Summer Camp

Summer Camp 2012 - June 9 to July 7

At Camp Sonrise Mountain campers have the opportunity to experience the beauty of God's creation in an atmosphere of Christian love and fellowship. Campers are encouraged to explore their relationship with Jesus Christ and to commit their lives to Him. Four age groups spend one week at the camp. They are:

Week 1 (June 9-16) -- Entering Grades 10, 11, 12 & up
Week 2 (June 16-23) -- Entering Grades 8 & 9
Week 3 (June 23-30) -- Entering Grade 6 & 7
Week 4 (June 30- July 7) -- Entering grade 3, 4, & 5

Camp Sonrise Mountain is a non-profit corporation that exists for the purpose of providing facilities and an environment where the Gospel of Jesus Christ is proclaimed and individuals are encouraged to seek and find greater meaning for their lives in Christ. Camp Sonrise Mountain is affiliated with the Allegheny Region Conference of the Churches of God, General Conference.

The pristine environment of Camp Sonrise Mountain provides an excellent opportunity for intensive Christian interaction or a relaxing atmosphere for spiritual and recreational retreats. Our kitchen staff and on sight maintenance care takers will make your stay an enjoyable experience that will keep your church or organization wanting to come back year after year. There are also many other local attractions within a few minutes drive for those who wish to have an additional outing during their stay with us.

C. S. M. can accommodate many sizes of groups, youth or adult. The camp may be rented by the week, weekend, or a single day. It is available to church groups, Christian organizations, and other non-profit organizations whose purpose and objectives for renting the Camp are compatible with those of Camp Sonrise Mountain.

History

The camp is part of the Allegheny Region Churches of God (ARC) and was built in1965. The original land was the Maryland portion of the Rodahaver farm donated to the Churches of God for the purposes of building a camp. Many additions have occured over the years to make the camp one of the best facilities in the area.
