Facilities

Our 75 acre camping facility includes:

  • 10 masonry cabins with a capacity of 12 per cabin. Hot showers, rest rooms and gas furnace are in each cabin.

  • Rodahaver Chapel, seats 150, with modern rest rooms in foyer area.

  • A fellowship hall (located under Rodahaver Chapel has a fireplace and two classrooms for small group interaction.

  • A dining hall, where meals are served cafeteria style, includes full kitchen facilities - maximum capacity 150.

  • Camp store with ice cream novelties, soda and snacks.

  • Outdoor facilities include an amphitheater with fire pit, a pavilion/shelter house with fireplace, a heated swimming pool (June thru August) with certified lifeguard, a ballfield, volleyball and a basketball court, also there many hiking trails with multiple campfire sites.

  • Vesper Hill and Sonrise Overlook, two outdoor site perfect for vespers or private devotions and prayer.

  • Camp Director on site.

The Camp is physically located on the Maryland side of the Mason-Dixon line; however, our mailbox is in Pennsylvania. You can actually park your car in either state since the parking lot extends into PA.

About Us

Mission

Camp Sonrise Mountain is a non-profit corporation that exists for the purpose of providing facilities and an environment where the gospel of Jesus Christ may be proclaimed and where individuals are encouraged to seek and find greater meaning for their lives in Christ.

 

History

The camp is part of the Allegheny Region Churches of God (ARC) and was built in1965. The original land was the Maryland portion of the Rodahaver farm donated to the Churches of God for the purposes of building a camp. Many additions have occured over the years to make the camp one of the best facilities in the area.
